The Tent

The Tent has been part of our camps since 2008 when we left the Cave in Canyonlands, a wrench and a new opportunity at the same time. Putting it up is a community effort; here’s a photo essay of the process.

The Tent trailer
Unloading the Tent trailer.
Laying out the floor.
Lacing the roof halves together.
Checking it all out.
Driving stakes (now we hire someone to do it. Someone younger.)
Don’t ask…

Something to do with the center pole, I’m sure.
Attaching the center pole.
Righting the center pole.
Tightening the straps that hold the poles to the Tent.
Double checking the straps and whether
the Center pole is straight.
Attaching the cap after the fact
(oops).

After the pin is in and the center pole is stable.
Putting on the sides.
And it’s up!
And it’s decorated and ready to welcome us.
We all help keep the floor clean, thank you all!
