CARING FOR EACH OTHER

Peacemaking, briefly, is the art of bringing everyone back into the circle, held with the same resources, love and support (for a fuller description, see https://skyness.net/peace/ ). It’s something many of us do as part of our daily lives, and this column is a way to raise our awareness of that, to recognize the many ways we contribute to peace in the world.

• Bruce Voirin, a Dancer from Austin TX, has a family restaurant, NoMas Cantina, in Atlanta GA, run by a number of his extended family. He wrote to Sky recently, “The restaurant is staying open for the undocumented workers with families acting as a little grocery for the neighborhood with fresh produce and dry goods. Also curbside takeout. We decided to go into debt $1million to keep folks working with families. We are starting a volunteer delivery to undocumented workers, like restaurant workers and domestic help with groceries and prepared meals for the elders. I have a really deep sense of Peace. I always taught the kids to always give it if you had it to share. We are gonna give it till the money runs out. Somehow I don’t believe the money will run out this time either. We’ve been through worse as a family.”
